Mexico part 2

San Cristobal de la Casas
We slept terribly on the night bus. In San Cristobal we felt really cold because we had been in hot places for 8 weeks. In the morning we found a hostel and had scrambled eggs for breakfast. I had pancakes with whipped cream, cherries and chocolate sauce for lunch.
We went on a tour to indigenous villages. The first village was disappointing. The second village was more interesting. We got told that if candles were on the floor they were asking, and if they were on the table they said thank you. The guide told us about how much coca cola they drink in Mexico. When we got back we had tasty pad thai and cream yellow curry and delicious chicken satay. It was the best meal since travelling.
We had hotcakes with fresh pineapple jam for breakfast. For lunch we had scrambled eggs with delicious bacon. I had the best hot chocolate ever for dinner. I had 2 cups. Then we had to wait until 10:45pm for the long journey to Oaxaca.

Oaxaca
Dad left us at the bus station but struck out, so we caught a taxi to the central plaza. Finally dad found a rubbish hotel and the shower was terrible and it flooded the whole bathroom. For lunch we had weird chicken enchiladas with a roasted chocolate sauce (mole). We had a horrible guacamole torta.
We changed hotel to a lovely room. We went to the Oaxaca lending library and got some books out. For lunch we had battered chicken with spicy sausage and potato wedges. We had spectacular pork and pineapple tacos.
We had buffet chinese for lunch. I tried chocomilk.
We went to Monte Alban, Aztec ruins. It was brilliant. We had buffet lunch and one of the things was deep fried pork fat. It was disgusting. We had dominos pizza for dinner.
We did some terrible sightseeing. But the rest of the day was a lot better. We had amazing sorbet ice cream. I tried tequilla ice cream. I had amazing chicken soup. Then I had an intense pineapple ice lolly made of real pineapple.

Mexico City
We caught a bus to Mexico City and got security checked for weapons and it was our longest day bus journey. We caught a secure taxi because it was dangerous. Our driver was so angry because we wanted to go to the centre and now we know why because it took one and a half hours just to go 2 miles. We got to our hotel and I had to sleep on the bottom big bunk with mum, and dad slept on the top small bunk. But the beds were so creaky because of the springs. But we had a lovely chinese meal for dinner and then went to sleep. But it was a terrible night's sleep. I even said that it was my worst night's sleep ever.

Zitacuero
We left Mexico City straight away. We got up early and caught a taxi to the bus station and caught a bus to Zitacuero. We found a nice hotel and stayed there. Then we tried going to the supermarket but unfortunately we went the wrong way. But we foudn our way back in the end.
We got up early and caught a taxi to Ocampo. Our driver was a slob. When he was eating his tacos, he let the cheese fall all the way down his chin, then picked it up agina and ate it. From Ocampo we caught a rusty collectivo to El Rosario. When we got to a small village on the way, we had to take a bumpy side route which our driver was determined to take. Finally, after a long journey, we got to the monarch butterfly area. But then we had a long trek up the hill to the area with the butterflies. When we got there, the branches were creaking under the weight of the butterflies. I saved a few butterflies from being trodden on. Then we caught the collectivo and taxi back to Zitacuero.

Morelia
We caught a 2nd class bus to Morelia. It didn't have a toilet. We had burritos for lunch with refried beans and spicy chicken. Then we had bitty hot chocolate and delicious chicken soup.
We got up late and played an awesome game of table football at the fair. Then we had some weird sugar cane with pineapple sugar. You had to spit out the wood after you got the juice out. But it was tasty. We had good value chinese for lunch. Then we had strawberry and lechara (sweet milk) in crepes; they were delicious. Then we had an icy cold strawberry smoothie.
We walked all the way to the zoo. My favourite part was when we went to the reptile house. I had a delicious hawiana pizza, but my dad had a horrible hawiana torta because there was too much mayonaise.
We went to the sweet market and bought some traditional Mexican sweets. We played 33 games of table football and tried some sugar cane juice.

Guadalajara
We got up early and caught a 1st class bus to Guadalajara. On the bus, we had touch pads to play games on. We had delicious chinese for lunch. Then we found our hotel and went to sleep.
We has an amazing buffet brunch. I had cinnamon and apple pie, and pineapple pie. They were tasty, delicious and fantastic. We went to the museum and saw a woolly mammoth skeleton. Then we played an amazing game of air hockey. Next we saw and heard brilliant drumming on tins and pots.
