The people from our hotel met us at the airport and drove us to the hotel where we fell asleep immediately. We played catch in the pool and I did some running on the treadmill in the gym. Then we had delicious chicken soup for lunch. When we got to the beach it had a disgusting line of rubbish which made us not want to swim in the sea. There was a man sitting on a sun lounger in a pile of rubbish which was disgusting. We had tasty nasi goreng from a little local restaurant on the corner from our hotel.
We caught a 30 minute taxi ride to Sanur. We had a massive room with it's own kitchen and siting area. We had a horrible Korean ramen at a restaurant, which was just a pot noodle with an egg. We were really annoyed when we walked along and fpund much better, cheaper places to eat. We found a really nice place to eat where we had tasty mango fruit smoothies and chicken satay. We walked along the seafront to see all of the expensive resorts. We also watched Marvel Age of Ultron which I thought was really good. We had miniature fish and chips for dinner. We went for a run and dived in the pool afterwards. I had a weird Balinese rice pudding for tea.
We caught a rickety rackety cab to Padang Bai. We had a room with 3 beds at last, but it came at a price because the room smelled musty and mouldy. We got past the 1km long ferry queue because the other ferry was not working. We had spicy sweet and sour chicken for lunch, and played ball in the massive pool back at the hotel.
We had a delicious pineapple pancake for breakfast. We found a beach but didn't go in the sea because there were no waves and there was lots of rubbish in the sea. We found another beach with big waves but we didn't go in the sea because it was getting late. We had delicious seafood and chips for dinner.
We went back to the beach with big waves but didn't stay in the sea for long because dad got stung by a jellyfish. We played in pool and had massive fish and chips for lunch. We had delicious chicken wings for dinner.
We caught a taxi at 11:30am just before the ferry arrived so that we weren't stuck in a queue. Our hotel owner was really pushy. We asked if we wanted to go diving immediately when we arrived even though it was not the right time for diving, and he called his staff over to try and force us into eating lunch in his expensive restaurant. Our room was dark and was an absolute mossie fest. We had a bony fish satay for lunch. I met a 5 year old boy from Sweden, called Owen, who I played with in the pool with my lego. We had delicious special fried noodles for dinner.
When we were playing in the pool, I jumped onto the sloping bit and really hurt my foot. I had creamy carbonara for dinner and a red velvet magnum on the way back.
We caught a taxi up to a little village. The village sold weavings and lots of wood carvings for different Balinese gods. We met a man who showed us the smallest bees in the world which were defenceless. We also tried mango honey, tea honey and sweet and sour honey. He also showed us how to weave a brown basket and how to use the roots to make it black. We found a new restaurant on our extremely hot walk back. We had sumptuous carbonara for dinner.
I said goodbye to Owen before we caught our taxi to Ubud. Our resort was amazing. It had a bath, DVD player, safe and a massive comfortable bed. We caught the free shuttle bus into the centre of Ubud. We landed right in tourist central. We walked down a side alley and found a local restaurant where we had amazing sauted mushrooms and chicken satay for dinner. We watched Marvel Civil War on DVD which I thought had an amazing storyline and was action packed.
We had delicious fried eggs and bacon for breakfast. We walked around town and bought food for the day of silence. In the evening we took pictures of all of the massive monsters which were in the festival. We also bought a large shaved ice but left when it got too crowded and smoky.
Nyepi is is the Balinese New Year. It is a day of silence to convince the bad spirits the island is uninhabited. You even have to close the curtains when you turn on lights. We had to stay in the hotel and play in the pool and on Clash Royale, and watch DVDs. We ate Pot Noodles and other snacks from the convenience store.
We walked around town and saw rice paddies which were beautiful and we looked in lots of wood carvers. We had an extremely thin pizza for dinner. In the rice terraces they have a clever system of making each rice paddie get its own water. They put a lump of mud to stop it flowing one way and take it away to make it flow a different way. We also had a mango and strawberry smoothie while we were in the rice paddies. We had a horrible Japanese okonomiyaki, Japanese pancake, for dinner.
It was my mum's birthday yah! We walked round some more rice fields and saw a sign warning us about cobras. We stopped walking early because there wasn't much to see and it was very hot. We went in the hotel pool instead. We had the best bbq ribs ever with a bubble gum milkshake for dinner. We watched Doctor Strange on DVD, which was highly disappointing and the worst Marvel film yet.
We met 2 American girls in the pool who I played with and chatted with. They lived in Japan and taught us some Japanese. We had chicken katsu for dinner. I also bought some Yugio cards which turned out to be my best cards yet. I played chess with one of the girls after dinner.
We caught a long and comfortable minivan to Sideman. We walked through lots of lush, long, beautiful rice terraces. We also walked in the burning sun to find a shop. So when we got back we fell into the swimming pool. We had very spicy yellow curry for dinner.
We had delicious pineapple pancake for breakfast. We walked down a quite muddy track to a hidden paradise. Mum was going crazy taking millions of photos. We then played a game of catch in the pool. We had a filling hawian pizza for dinner, but unfortunately mum was sick afterwards.
We caught a taxi to Ahmed. The journey was bumpy but we stopped at the most amazing lush, green rice terrace views. I also felt really sick a lot of the time because of the bumpy motion. Our room was a lovely thatched cottage with a separate upstairs room for me. We played wall ball catch in the swimming pool. We had delicious chips and calamari rings for dinner.
We had delicious museli, pancakes and fruit at a buffet breakfast. We went walking, but after 10 minutes it started raining, so we went into a warung and had an orange juice which tasted like water. We walked back and had our hair cut in a high quality and cheap barbers. I won a quick game on monopoly, then we went back out and found my hat which I had left at the barbers. We then had ridiculously strong and garlicy sweet and sour for dinner. We caught a 3 and a half hour taxi back to Kuta, and bought 30 dvds. We played transformers, house of the dead 4, and strike force ghost at the arcade. We went through immigration and customs and got an a late flight back to Kuala Lumpar. We arrived at 11 o'clock at night. Then we caught a taxi to our hotel and went straight to sleep.
